Detailed Solution

Acidic oxides are those that either make a solution acidic after the addition of water or accept hydroxide ions from a solution (behave as a Lewis acid). The acidic character of oxides increases when the electronegativity difference between an element and oxygen decreases. The basic character of oxides increases on moving down the group, while the acidic character of oxides increases on moving left to right in a period. As a result, the acidic character of the oxide increases as the electronegativity of an element increases.

Boron is a non-metal and its oxide, B2O3 is an acidic oxide because it forms boric acid when react with water. Al2O3 is am amphoteric oxide because it reacts with both acid and base to form salt along with water.

Nitrogen is a non-metal, therefore it form acidic oxide. It also forms neutral oxide such as N2O and NO, but it cannot form basic oxide.
