Select the features of cortical nephrons from the following.

(a) They are confined only to renal cortex.
(b) Glomerulus is situated in the cortical region of the kidney.

Each nephron has two parts - glomerulus and the renal tubule. Glomerulus, PCT, DCT all lie in cortical region. 

In cortical nephrons, the loops of Henle are too short and extend only very little into the medulla. 

Vasa recta are ‘U’ shaped blood capillaries are highly reduced or absent for cortical nephrons.
