In oomycetes, a class of fungi, the male gamete is smaller and flagellate and the female gamete is larger and non-flagellate. Male gametangium is called antheridium and female gametangium is called oogonium.

(2) Chlamydomonas usually shows isogamy with flagellated gametes. Rarely, it shows anisogamy, in which
both male and female gametes are biflagellate. Very rarely, it shows oogamy, in which male gamete is
biflagellate and female gamete is nonflagellate. Fucus, a brown alga, shows oogamy with motile, biflagellate male gamete and stationary egg cell in oogonium.
