Seliwanoff test and Xanthoproteic test are used for the identification of __ and __ respectively

Seliwanoff test is used do distinguish ketosses from aldoses. The reagent of this test consists of resorcinol and conc. HCl. On treattment with a concentrated acid, ketones are dehydrated more rapidly to give furfural derivative and on condensation with resorcinol give cherry red complex. Xanthoproteic tes is used to detect amino acids containing aromatic nucleus. On heating with scpnc. HNO₃ it gives yellow colour’s nitro derivatives
