Given a statement in an isosceles triangle, the vertex angle is twice either base angle.
Let us assume the base angle = b°.
Now, the vertex angle is twice the base angle = 2b.
Also, in an isosceles triangle base angles are equal.
Hence, the sum of all angles of the triangle is = 2b + b + b.
But as we know, the sum of all angles of a triangle is 180°, equating both.
2b+b+b= 180 °  
4b= 180 °  
The equation is 4b= 180 °  .
