Detailed Solution

The sex ratio is defined as the number of females per thousand males in a given population or an area.
In other words, it is the ratio of the total number of children per thousand boys in an area. In an area or a society where males and females are equal in number, the sex ratio becomes 1:1, i.e., 1000 females for every 1000 males. According to the census of 2011, the sex ratio in India was 940 females per 1000 males. According to 2020 data, the sex ratio in India is 108.18 males per 100 females. This low sex ratio shows various social and economic factors. Fewer females per thousand males indicates poor health care facilities, common problems with our health department, and female foeticide, which is still prevalent in our society.
