Shadow is a dark outline of an opaque body placed in the path of light.
Light is an invisible energy which causes the sensation of vision in the eye. Light helps us see objects clearly, and reflection of light is the process through which we can see distant objects. The objects that blow the way of the light beam is known as opaque objects, and the objects that allow the complete passing of the light beam is known as a transparent object. In this case, the shadow is formed, which means that the body blocks the path of the light, and hence the body is an opaque object.
