Shipki La pass is located in Himachal Pradesh.
A trading post and a high-altitude mountain pass in the Himalayas, Shipki La, was located on the boundary between India and China. It lies in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh and the Tibetan Autonomous Region's Ngari Prefecture in the People's Republic of China. It is a major local trade route, along with NathuLa in Sikkim and Lipulekh in Uttarakhand. Through this pass, the River Sutlej enters India. The Sutlej River is known as Langqên Zangbo in Tibet. Non-residents are not permitted to use this pass. The third Indian border crossing point for commerce and trade with the inhabitants of Tibet is the Shipki La pass.
