Detailed Solution

Shivangi’s phone subscription charges for the period 17-04-22 to 15-05-22 are shown in the table given below, then the total bill amount, if a 3% education cess was also charged on the service tax, will be Rs.909.39.
It is given that the amount paid for the period 17-04-22 to 23-04-22 is Rs.199.75 and 12% is the service tax.
Service tax=12% of Rs 199.75
Service tax= Rs  12 100 × 199.75   Service tax=Rs 23.97   Therefore total amount paid from the period 17-04-22 to 23-04-22 with service tax 12%,
= Rs  199.75+23.97  = Rs 223.72.   Now, it is given that the amount paid for the period 24-04-22 to 15-05-22 is Rs.599.25 and 10% is the service tax.
Service tax=10% of Rs 599.25
Service tax= Rs  10 100 × 599.25   Service tax=Rs 59.925    Therefore total amount paid from the period 24-04-22 to 15-05-22 with a service tax of 10%,
= Rs 599.25+59.925  = Rs 659.175.   This shows that the total bill amount =Rs  223.72+659.175  = Rs 882.895.   Thus, the total bill amount, if a 3% education cess was also charged on the service tax, will be,
Rs 882.895+3% of Rs 882.895 =Rs  882.895+ 3 100 ×882.895 =Rs 909.39.
