It is given that Shobo’s mother’s present age is six times Shobo’s present age. Shobo’s age five years from now will be one third of his mother’s present age.
Let the present age of Shobo is x years, then Shobo’s mother present age will be 6x year.
Linear equation will be,

x + 5 = 13 × 6 x

Simplifying,

⇒ 3 × x + 5 = 6 x ⇒ 3 x + 5 × 3 = 6 x ⇒ 3 x + 15 = 6 x

Transposing 6x to the left hand side and 15 to the right hand side.

⇒ 3 x − 6 x = − 15 ⇒ − 3 x = − 15 ⇒ x = − 15 − 3 ⇒ x = 5

The present age of Shobo is 5 years.
