Should I mix SQPs with PYQs and chapter-wise tests?

The Foundation (Now - December 2025) 

Main Focus: Chapter-wise Tests

During this phase, your primary goal is to master each chapter individually.

• How to use: After you finish a chapter, take a chapter-wise test. This helps you confirm your understanding and identify specific weaknesses within that topic.
• Role of PYQs: After a chapter test, solve the PYQs only from that specific chapter. This shows you what kind of questions have been asked from that topic in board exams.

At this stage, do not attempt full SQPs or PYQs. It's like trying to build the roof before the walls are up; you'll get discouraged because you haven't covered the full syllabus.

The Integration (January 2026) 

Main Focus: Full SQPs and PYQs

By now, your syllabus should be at least 90-100% complete. It's time to connect the dots and build stamina for the 3-hour exam.

• How to use: Start solving full Sample Question Papers (SQPs) and Previous Year Question Papers (PYQs) under strict exam conditions (3-hour timer, no distractions).
• The Mix: Start with the last 3-4 years of PYQs to understand the pattern. Then, solve the latest official CBSE SQP to understand the expected paper style for your specific exam. Alternate between PYQs and other high-quality mock papers.

The Final Polish (February 2026 - Right Before Exams) 

Main Focus: Analyzing Mistakes and Targeted Revision

This is not about solving a high volume of new papers. It's about perfecting your strategy.

• How to use: Revisit the SQPs and PYQs you have already solved. Analyze your error log. Are you still making the same mistakes?
• The Mix: Take 1-2 full mock tests per week to stay in practice, but spend most of your time revising your weak areas identified during the Integration Phase.
