Detailed Solution

Shri Ram Chandra offered his 80 acres of land to the landless, and this act came to be known as Bhoodan, which means the charity of lands. This traces back to an important event that took place before this. It was the time when Vinobha Bhave was on his padayatra after Gandhi’s death. A group of poor landless farmers came to him and asked for help; as they were landless, there was no land for farming, and they wanted help in the form of land so they could also have their livelihood. But then, he just promised them that he would take the matter to the government and ask them to make some provisions for cooperation. And this blood took place after this incident.
