Detailed Solution

Given, Shyama bought 5 kg 300 g apples and 3 kg 250 g mangoes.
1kg=1000g
1g= 1 1000 kg
Therefore, total fruit quantity that Shyama bought is
5kg300g+3kg250g=8kg550g =8kg+550× 1 1000 kg =8.550kg
And, Sarala bought 4 kg 800 g oranges and 4 kg 150 g bananas.
Therefore, total fruit quantity that Shyama bought is
4kg800g+4kg150g=8kg850g =4kg800g+4kg150g=8kg850g =8kg+950× 1 1000 kg =8.950kg
Comparing both the quantities, we get-
8.950kg>8.550kg
Thus, the statement Sarala bought more fruits is true.
Hence, the given statement is true.
