Detailed Solution

Silappadikaram and manimekalai are examples of Tamil Epics.
According to later Tamil literary tradition, there are five Tamil epics known as The Five Great Epics. Their names are Silappatikram, Manimekalai, Cvaka Cintmai, Valayapathi, and Kualakci. Cilappatikram, often spelled Silappathikaram or Silappatikaram, is the title of the earliest Tamil epic. In this 5,730-line poem, nearly entirely written in the kaval (aciriyam) meter, Kannaki and her wealthy husband Kovalan's tragic love tale are depicted. Tamil Jains are recognized for writing three of Tamil literature's five greatest epics, while Tamil Buddhists are credited with writing the other two. Buddhists wrote the Manimekalai and Kualakci, while Tamil Jains wrote the Cvaka Cintmai, Cilappatikram, and Valayapathi.
