Detailed Solution

Simon's commission was greeted in India with the slogan, Simon, go back.
Simon's commission arrived in India in 1928 and was boycotted by all Indians. The large protests welcomed the Simon commission with the cries of "Simon, go back." However, there was a reason why the Simon Commission was formed when the Indian members of the Central Legislative Assembly exposed the drawbacks of the Indian government, which were implemented by the Government of India Act 1919. The purpose of the formation of the Simon Commission was to make constitutional reforms and keep a check on the functionality of Indians. However, all seven commission members were British without representing Indians which caused resentment among the people.
