Detailed Solution

Sir John Simon was the chairman of the Simon Commission in India.
Seven members of Parliament served on the Indian Statutory Commission, also known as the Simon Commission, which was presided over by Sir John Simon (later, 1st Viscount Simon). In order to constitutional reform in Britain's biggest and most significant colony, the commission traveled to British India in 1928. Clement Attlee, the future leader of the Labour Party, who was committed to granting India self-government, was one of its members. After its chairman Sir John Simon, it became known as the Simon Commission. The Government of India Act of 1919 announced that a royal commission would be established ten years from 1919 to provide a report on the act's effectiveness.
