Detailed Solution

Sitaram Pandey was a sepoy in Bengal Native Army.
Sitaram Pandey was enlisted in the Bengal Native Army in 1812 as a sepoy. After 48 years of service to the English, he retired in 1860. Pandey finished writing his autobiography in Awadhi in 1861, and Norgate had it translated into English and published under the name From Sepoy to Subedar. He had outlined some justifications for why, if the colonial administration kept up its brutal and vicious practices, people would rebel against it.
