Detailed Solution

Slavery, as reintroduced by Napoleon, was finally abolished in 1848.
Napoleon Bonaparte was a military dictator and ruler who crowned himself as the emperor of France in 1804 after the fall of the Jacobin government. Napoleon saw himself as a modernising force for the whole of France and sought to introduce various reforms. The French Revolution ended with the rise of Napoleon as the ruler, thus establishing the consulate after abolishing the existing social order. Slavery, as it had always been practised on the European, American, and African continents was reintroduced during Napoleon's reign but was eventually abolished in 1848. This convention made all enslaved people free.
