Social and economic groups which are most vulnerable to poverty are SC, ST, and casual labourers.
The lowest social and economic group includes households engaged in rural agriculture, casual urban housing, and those below the poverty level. Without any chance of escaping it, they are forced to endure poverty for the rest of their lives. Their entire family works to provide for their basic needs in daily life. They are sporadic workers who put in long hours each day to earn enough money for two square meals a day, sleep with rumbling tummies, and are compelled to live in slums while consuming tainted water. These people experience everyday suffering to survive and are more vulnerable to illnesses. Due to a lack of possibilities, they lack economic stability and would not receive proper schooling to get educated and at least work on their condition.
