The soil is mainly composed of five main components:

1. Silt
2. Clay
3. Rock
4. Gravel
5. sand

Clay particles are so tiny that they cannot be seen under a standard microscope. Silt particles range in size from 0.002 to 0.05 mm. Sand has a thickness of 0.05 to 2.0 mm. The terms gravel and rock both refer to particles larger than 2.0 mm. Rock is made up of different gravels.
