Detailed Solution

Given, 3 x+1 1 2 = 2 3x1 ,x1, 1 3
3 x+1 2 3x1 = 1 2 3(3x1)2(x+1) (x+1)(3x1) = 1 2 9x32x2 3 x 2 +3xx1 = 1 2 7x5 3 x 2 +2x1 = 1 2
Cross multiplying,
  2(7x5) =3 x 2 +2x1 14x10 =3 x 2 +2x1 0 =14x103 x 2 2x+1 3 x 2 12x+9 =0
3x(x3)3(x3)=0 (3x3)(x3)=0   Since, (3x3)=0   and (x3)=0
Values are x=1   and x=3
Therefore, the values of x which satisfies the given quadratic equation are 1 and 3 and the correct option is 4.
