Some of the troubles faced by Adivasis in India are the loss of land, livelihood, customs and traditions. Over time, Adivasis have lost their lands and primary sources of income. Many have travelled to cities searching for work, working for pitiful pay in buildings, industries, and construction sites, contributing to the urban poor. In rural areas, 45% of tribal groups and 35% in urban regions live below the poverty level. Malnourished youngsters make up a large proportion of the tribal children. When Adivasis are uprooted from their homes, they lose their source of income, customs and traditions, and way of life and being. Tribal life's economic and social components are inextricably linked.
