People of the same religion frequently feel as though they do not belong to the same community because of differences in caste or sect. E.g. in certain places, a Hindu Brahman and a Hindu Dalit might not intermingle with each other. Similarly, there are ideological and social differences between a Shia Muslim and a Sunni Muslim.
