This defect of vision is called night blindness or nyctalopia.
Night blindness or nyctalopia is an inability of viewing objects in dim light. The reason of night blindness is deficiency of vitamin A. deficiency of vitamin A affect the production of important pigment called rhodopsin. Rhodopsin is very important for vision. To cover the deficiency of vitamin A patient should eat vitamin A rich food and can wear contact lenses instead of wearing spectacles.
