SPA stands for Seven Party Alliance in terms of an alliance in Nepal. The SPA played a significant role in restoring democracy in the country. In 2005, the newly made King Gyanendra abolished all setups of democracy in the country and even dissolved the Parliament. He seized all powers in his hands. A movement was started, and the SPA demanded setting up a Constituent Assembly along with the Parliament and restoring a democratic government. BY 2006, the king had to surrender and bow to the demands of the SPA.
