Concept- Hund’s Rule is also known as Hund’s rule of maximum spin multiplicity. According to this rule the pairing of electrons only takes place once the electrons are completely half filled in the orbital.
According to this principle, electron pairing only occurs when the orbital is fully filled with electrons.
According to Hund's rule, different electrons are positioned in various subshell orbitals in order to produce the greatest possible number of unpaired electrons with parallel spin.
This rule may alternatively be expressed as: the electrons are filled in various subshell orbitals so that the spin multiplicity value is maximised.
Once all the orbitals sub – shell is singly occupied with parallel spin then pairing of electrons occurs.
Spin multiplicity is based on the number of unpaired electrons and each unpaired electron has ±1/2value.
If no unpaired electron will become singlet(1) .
