Spinning Jenny was devised by James Hargreaves.
Spinning Jenny was a machine made through the involvement of new technology. James Hargreaves devised it in 1764 to speed up the production process. The device made spinning handy and increased productivity per worker. By turning a single wheel, several spindles could be set in motion. Through this device, workers could spin several threads simultaneously, unlike in earlier times when spinning was a handmade process. Thus, it led to a reduction in the demand for labour which created hostilities among the workers. Many women workers attacked spinning jenny due to fear of joblessness.
