Detailed Solution

Spinning Jenny was invented by James Hargreaves in the year 1764. Traditional "cottage industries" took place in the houses of textile workers, spinning cotton into threads that were then woven into fabric. But the 'Industrial Revolution,' the great age of steam, canals, and factories that forever altered the face of the British economy, began to emerge in the 18th century. The "Spinning Jenny" invented by James Hargreaves, whose patent is displayed here, will completely alter how cotton is spun. The operator could now spin eight threads by rotating a single wheel, as the machine employed eight spindles to which the thread was spun. With advances in technology, this rose to eighty.
