Spirit of Laws' was authored by Baron de Montesquieu.
The spirit of the law, first published in 1750, is a detailed treatise on the structure and theory of government by the French political philosopher Baron de Montesquieu.  In The Spirit of Law, Montesquieu proposed the distribution of power in government between the legislature, the executive, and the judiciary.  This particular treatise has been translated into several languages ​​and has thus gained worldwide fame. It was initially popularized in France. Spirit of the Laws is a treaty based on political theory. There are also works on comparative law. The French name of ‘spirit of laws’ is De l'esprit des Lois and originally spelled De l'esprit des Loix.
