The pericycle of dicot stem is sclerenchymatous and many layered and present as continuous ring or sclerenchyma may be limited to over vascular bundles as semilunar patches called bundle caps. Hypodermis is three to six layered and collenchymatous or partially collenchymatous. Medulla is parenchymatous and with large intercellular spaces.
