Detailed Solution

The acceleration of the bicycle in both the cases will be 0.2 m/s2 and  0.4 m/s2
For first case:
Initial velocity (u1)= 0 m/s Final velocity (v1)=60 m/s Time(t1)=30 sec v=u+at [using the equation of motion]
 6=0+a×30  6=30 a  a=0.2 m/ For second case:
Initial velocity(u2) =6 m/s Final velocity(v2) =4 m/s Time taken(t2) =5 sec v=u+at [using the equation of motion]
 4=6+a×5  4-6=5a  -2=5a  a=-0.4 m/s2 A negative acceleration indicates that the acceleration is in the direction opposite to the motion.
