Detailed Solution

The above statement is true. Bengali has its origins in Sanskrit.
The beginning of commercial relations between Bengal and Magadha (South Bihar) in the fourth and third centuries BCE may have contributed to the spread of Sanskrit. The Gupta emperors achieved political dominance over north Bengal during the fourth century and started to settle Brahmanas there. As a result, the mid-Ganga valley's language and cultural impact grew stronger. In the seventh century, the Chinese traveller Xuan Zang noted that Bengal was home to many Sanskrit-related languages. Sanskrit is where the origin of Bengali lies. However, the language has been impacted by several Persian, tribal, and European words, which are now a part of modern Bengali.
