Detailed Solution

The above statement is true. Vijayalaya belonged to the chiefly ancient family of Cholas from Uraiyur.
The delta was taken from the Mutharaiyar in the middle of the ninth century by Vijayalaya, a member of the former chiefly Chola family from Uraiyur. He built Nishumbhasudini's temple as well as the town of Thanjavur. The successors of Vijayalaya increased the kingdom's size and power by enlarging its borders through conquest. This kingdom included the Pallava and Pandyan regions to the south and north. Rajaraja I, regarded as the most powerful Chola emperor, expanded control over most of these areas after becoming king in 985. He also altered how the empire was governed. Rajendra I, Rajaraja's son, continued his father's policies and even led raids against the Ganga valley, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asian countries.
