We have to check if the number of each kind of currency note is 150 as 500 notes and 25 as 1000 notes.
Suppose the no. of Rs.500 notes is

= x

.
And the no. of Rs.1000 notes is

= 175 − x

According to the question,

500 x + 1000 175 − x = 1, 00, 000

⇒ 500 x + 1, 75, 000 − 1000 x = 1, 00, 000

⇒ 500 x − 1000 x = 1, 00, 000 − 1, 75, 000

⇒ − 500 x = − 75000

⇒ x = 75000500

⇒ x = 150

And, for Rs.1000 notes:
=175-x
=175-150
=25
So, it can be concluded that the lady gave 150 as 500 notes and 25 as 1000 notes and thus the statement is true.
