14800 meters of tarpaulin of width 96 cm is required to cover 100 such suitcases.
Width of the tarpaulin cloth used to cover the suitcases = 96 cm
Surface area of one suitcase;
⇒2×(l×b+b×h+h×l) ⇒2×(80×48+48×24+24×80) ⇒2×(3840+1152+1920) ⇒13824 cm 2  
Surface area of 100 suitcase is,
⇒100×13824 ⇒1382400c m 2  
Width of tarpaulin = 96 cm
Length is;
⇒ 1382400 96 ⇒14400cm  
Given statement is false as width of the tarpaulin cloth required to cover 100 suitcases is 14400 cm.
Hence option (2) is correct.
