Given a figure.
Question Image ABC and ABD are two triangles on the base AB .
The line segment CD is bisected by AB at O .
We have to show that area ΔABC =area ΔABD . .
So, AO is the median of ΔACD. The median of the triangle divides it into triangles of equal areas.
We know that the median divides a triangle into 2 triangles of equal areas.
Therefore,  ar(ΔAOC)=ar(ΔAOD) .                                    . . . . . . (1)
And, BO is the median of ΔBCD.    Therefore, ar(ΔBOC)=ar(ΔBOD) .                                     . . . . . . (2)
Adding (1) and (2), we get,
ar (ΔAOC)+ ar (ΔBOC)=ar(ΔAOD)+ ar (ΔBOD)   ar (ΔABC)=ar(ΔADB) Hence, the statement is true.
Hence, option 1 is correct.
