Detailed Solution

The above given statement is false.
Concept- Photosynthesis is that the process by which green plants turn carbonic acid gas and water into food using energy from sunlight. It occurs in plant leaves. The leaves contain green pigment referred to as chlorophyll which absorbs sunlight, the small pores present within the leaves helps in gaseous exchange within the leaves.
The photosynthesis takes place within the chloroplasts. Chloroplast is surrounded by double membranes and also contains thylakoid membranes. Photosynthesis takes place in mesophyll cells.
The reaction of photosynthesis involves carbon dioxide and water and forms carbohydrate and oxygen within the presence of sunlight. Animals take oxygen from plants for respiration and release greenhouse gas into the environment. therefore the overall photosynthetic equation is:
6CO 2 +6H 2 O C 6 H 12 O 6 +6O 2
From the above information we've found that carbon dioxide isn't released during photosynthesis, rather than that oxygen is released.
Therefore, the correct statement would be either ‘carbon dioxide is used during photosynthesis’ or ‘oxygen is released during photosynthesis’.
Hence, the correct option is 2.
