Concept- Gametangial copulation is commonly seen in fungi. In this method, entire contents of gametangia fuse with each other. It can occur by two methods, In first, one gametangium passes to another through a pore and fuse. In another method, dissolution of walls results in the common cell, then direct fusion of Gametangial cell occurs. Gametangial is not produced by the differentiation of the gamete, it is produced by the direct fusion of the two gametangia protoplasm.
