This means that whenever we add two or more rational numbers, the obtained sum is also a rational number.
Example:
1 2 + 2 3 = 3+2 6 = 5 6
So, we observe that adding 1 2 and 2 3 gives the sum as 5 6 , which is a rational number as it is in the form of a fraction.
