Given a statement, the number zero is a rational number.
We need to check whether the given statement is true or false.
Conditions for a number to be rational:
  • The number can be written in the form of m n  

    • ⇒   The number 0   can be written as 0 1 , 0 20 , 0 100 .....  which is in the form of m n  .
  • m   and n   are integers

    • In case of  0 1  , 0 and 1 are integers.
    In case of 0 20  , 0 and 20 are integers.
    In case of 0 100  , 0 and 100 are integers and so on.
  • n≠0  

    • ⇒   From the above examples, the denominator 0,20,100≠0  .
    The number zero satisfies all the above conditions. So, we can say that zero is a rational number.
    Hence, 1 is the correct option.
