Detailed Solution

The above statement is true. The Deccan Plateau is a triangular landmass, which lies to the south of the Narmada river. The Deccan Plateau is a large flatland triangle-shaped landmass that lies south of the Narmada river. It is one of the broad divisions of the Peninsular Plateau. The Satpura range bound the Vindhya range to the south and Aravalli to the northwest. The western and eastern edges of the Deccan Plateau are covered by the Western and Eastern Ghats, respectively. The elevation of the Western Ghats is 900-1600 metres, while the Eastern Ghats are elevated at 600 metres. The eastern ghats are discontinuous and irregularly dissected by rivers falling into the Bay of Bengal. Mahendragiri is the highest mountain peak in the Eastern Ghats in India.
