Detailed Solution

The given statement is true.
Concept- Boyle's law, which states that absolute pressure is inversely proportional to volume at constant temperature for a given amount of gas, must be verified.
Applications:
Barometer, oil reservoir, manual air pump, Bourdon pressure gauge, and air column with measuring scale.
Question ImageAs indicated in the diagram above, connect the equipment. The oil reservoir must then be connected to the air column so that there is no leakage and the oil completely seals off the air. The oil reservoir is now connected to the hand air pump. Open the air tap and begin pushing air through the air pump when all the various pieces of equipment have been assembled. Pump air continuously until the upper part of the column contains the oil. The pressure inside the system rises as air moves through the oil reservoir. The pressure gauge shows this to be the case. Once the oil stops rising and the pressure gauge reading stabilises, close the air tap (i.e. reached its peak). Take note of the pressure and volume readings after waiting two to three minutes for the compressed air to cool. Now, open the air tap just a little bit before swiftly closing it to let some air out of the system. It will result in less oil in the column. Take note of the pressure and volume readings after two to three minutes. To record seven to eight observations, repeat the previous two stages. As illustrated below, set up the observation table and perform the calculations. Draw a graph of pressure versus volume and pressure versus inverse volume. The experiment should then be finished depending on the graphs.
Hence, the given statement is true.
