Subansiri is Brahmaputra's longest tributary. The river enters India through Arunachal Pradesh, travels through Assam, and finally enters Bangladesh after rising in the Manasarovar area. Throughout its length in India, the Brahmaputra receives various tributaries. The river runs for 442 kilometres and has a basin area of 32,640 square kilometres. It begins in Tibet and runs through Arunachal Pradesh before reaching the Brahmaputra in the Assam district of Lakhimpur. The Subansiri is an antecedent river that provides around 8% of the discharge of the Brahmaputra.
