Q.

State whether the given statement is true or false.

Detailed Solution

The given statement is true .
Concept- The reflecting surface of a convex mirror is curved and protrudes outward in the direction of the light source. Instead of focussing light, this outward-facing surface reflects it. These mirrors provide a virtual picture because the focal point (F) and the center of curvature (2F) are fictitious spots in the mirror that cannot be reached. As a result, since the images are created inside the mirror, they cannot be projected onto a frame. The illusion first seems to be smaller than the actual thing, but as it gets closer to the mirror, the illusion enlarges.
The primary axis point on a convex mirror where incident light rays parallel to the principal axis tend to arrive is the convex mirror's focal point following reflection from the mirror. The distance between the fixation and the pole of a convex mirror is its focal length.
Question ImageThe focal length of the convex mirror may be determined by positioning a convex lens in front of the object and the convex mirror. A reflection can be achieved with the assistance of a convex lens placed next to the object when the convex mirror mirrors the rays in the same direction, i.e. when the sun's natural rays strike the mirror. The radius of curvature of the mirror, R, is then used to calculate the difference between the projector and the mirror.
Hence, the given statement is true.
