A mountain landform on the Deccan Plateau that rises roughly two hundred kilometres west of the Eastern Ghats is the Bailadila hills. It was named 'Bailadila' since it looked like an ox's hump. It is in the Dantewada district of southern Chhattisgarh, India, near Kirandul town. The famous Bailadila range of hills in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district contains very high-grade hematites. The Bailadila hills are home to 14 deposits of ultra-high-grade hematite iron ore. It possesses the best physical qualities required for steel production.
