The above statement is correct. The Northern Plains are formed by the deposition of sediments by the Indus, Ganga, and Brahmaputra rivers and their tributaries. The Northern Plain extends through the states Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, and the union territories Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
