 Statement – II: The  hybrid plants produce 4 types of gametes during selfing.

The plants with yellow round phenotype obtained in progeny are homozygous as well as heterozygous for both characters (YYRR, YYRr, YyRR, YyRr). On selfing F1 we get two possible combinations i.e YR, Yr, yR, yr. Therefore four types of gametes are formed in the ratio of 1:1:1:1.
