Statement 1: ${\mathrm{HNO}}_3$ is a stronger acid than ${\mathrm{HNO}}_2$.

Statement 2: In ${\mathrm{HNO}}_3$, there are two oxygen atoms are  bonded to Nitrogen, whereas in ${\mathrm{HNO}}_2$ there is only one.

Conjugate base of nitric acid is stable ,where as conjugate base nitrous acid is less stable.More over in nitric acid negative charge shared by three oxygen atoms ,while in nitrous acid only two oxygen atoms.
