In eukaryotes the replication and transcription takes place in the nucleus. mRNA comes out from the nucleus through the nuclear pores where it is associated with ribosomes to involve in translation. In prokaryotes there is no nuclear membrane, so replication, transcription and translation all occur in the cytoplasm.
