Acetanilide has an amide functional group, meaning it has a nitrogen atom bonded directly to a carbonyl (carbon-oxygen double bond). 

-NH₂ group in aniline is ortho-para directing group because it releases electrons towards ring due to resonance and at the same time they withdraw the electrons towards themselves.
